Bonaire Diving
Each year, tens of thousands of dive tourists especially come to Bonaire to enjoy the beautiful reefs, the huge variety of reef fish and coral species. In the waters around Bonaire there are as many as 469 different species of fish. A large amount of these fish live in and on the beautiful coral reefs of our beautiful island. Nowhere else in the Caribbean there are so many different reef fish species. This is mainly why the B of the ABC islands is also known as Divers' Paradise.Bonaire has more than 80 shore dive sites, mainly on the west coast, causing another popular nickname: Shore dive Capital of the World.
The wild east coast can also be dived from shore, but only with an experienced local guide. For somewhat less trained divers, Bonaire East Coast Diving offers great dives, with their especially equipped Zodiac, so you can still make these fantastic east coast dives.
The reefs around Bonaire and Klein Bonaire belong to the BNMP, the Bonaire National Marine Park, which is managed by STINAPA. Partly because of this management and because of the fact that the Leeward Islands, which include Bonaire, are outside the hurricane belt, Bonaire's reefs are virtually untouched.
Therefore truly a paradise for divers!
Casa Calida is located near all the shore dive sites in the southwestern part of the island and near the road to the Sorobon Area with the Hang Out Beachbar, the place to be for windsurfers Jibe City and the dock where the Bonaire East Coast Divers boat leaves the lagoon of Lac Bay to explore the dive sites just outside the barrier reef on that side.
